Artist's Statement:

Enter a dark room, light flickers, repeating images that are scattered throughout the darkness, images layered on images. Notice the impression of a wall, a glimmer of shine in a line off the hardwood floor. The soundtrack is the relentless hum of a projector's motor. You move uncertain and cautious through the room towards the lights. In the dark and towards an unknown, time changes, slows, becomes open to the infinite possible. … The light, the image, once you’ve reached it, it consumes the space and cascades before you. You are surrounded by images on top of themselves. A montage of a white lily, black lace trim, dust & sand in a mirror. I send my images back upon myself in reflections on dusty mirrors & on glossy glass windows. I send these images on to you.

I seek to expose the living, lucid images active beneath the surface of the everyday, the visions of the psyche. I use photography, film, installation and sculpture, with elements of performance and actions, to explore the connections, successful and missed, between memory, experience, architecture and the relationship of the self to the other. Using structuralist and intuitive association tactics, I reference my materials to reinterpret notions of real through examination of transitional moments, traumas, memories, surprises, the fantastical and discomforts in the mundane. I work with representation, the experience of viewing and ideas of the self, of what you see and what I release of myself within the parameters of the length of a reel of film or the space established by 4 walls. I am interested in where we overlap and where we miss each other.
